COVID-19 update from Counselling with Naomi (CwN) – March 22, 2020. After much consideration I have taken the decision to implement social distancing and will be transitioning all existing and new clients to online sessions as of today. I do intend to offer face to face sessions in the future, though at this present time it is hard to say when that will be. The past week has seen much change within Saigon (and of course, globally), with various parts of the community affected by Covid-19 confirmed cases. This has impacted some of the community who utilise the services of CwN and the move to online counselling sessions has naturally moved in this direction sooner than I had expected it might ever need to. In addition to this, the compound where I am based are becoming more strict in allowing non-residents/deliveries to gain access.
What does this mean to your sessions: - As of now all sessions will be offered online using video/audio conferencing via Zoom - https://zoom.us. You will need to download Zoom, though will not necessarily need to open an account. I will schedule the meeting and then send you a meeting invitation via email . Zoom is very similar to Skype, though many organisations consider it to be more secure. If you would rather use Skype then that is also possible. Within the invitation email you will receive the meeting ID plus also a password; both of which are unique to your session(s). CwN is unable to provide sessions via wechat/whatsapp/facebook messenger etc…
- I fully appreciate that online counselling is not for everyone. I have worked successfully online with clients globally for the past ten years. The only therapy that I do not offer online is hypnotherapy.
Thank you so much for your patience and understanding during this unpredictable period.
I appreciate that all of the ongoing 'virus' talk can feel rather overwhelming, if you feeling concerned or anxious in any way then take a look at this link for some great ideas on managing this: https://www.mind.org.uk/information-support/coronavirus-and-your-wellbeing/#collapse4ff52
And as a reminder to all of us, here are ways to minimise risk (https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/) Do... * wash your hands with soap and water often – do this for at least 20 seconds * always wash your hands when you get home or into work * use hand sanitiser gel if soap and water are not available * cover your mouth and nose with a tissue or your sleeve (not your hands) when you cough or sneeze * put used tissues in the bin immediately and wash your hands afterwards * try to avoid close contact with people who are unwell Don't... *do not touch your eyes, nose or mouth if your hands are not clean
